Scrapbooking Is Fun

You guys have no idea how long it took me to figure out how to post here. I haven't been on LJ in 4 years! Whew!

So I graduated a few months ago and I want to make a scrapbook based on the 4 years of my college life. There are a few ideas I found on Youtube that are useful, like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqu55zeFj5c&feature=related

But it's not enough! I tried searching "college" and "college scrapbooks" on LJ in communities like this and surprisingly found nothing! I'm grabbing ideas from the rest of your entries, and the "read me first post" is helpful in terms of starting & materials, but I suppose I'm looking for more examples of other college or high school graduation scrapbooks. That would make my day!

Hi I don't have any examples handy but I could probably give you some ideas.

There are a few approaches you could take.

One is College Top Ten. Pick out 10 fave photos from your college years. For each one, tell the story behind it. You could also pick out 10 favorite memories and then find photos and memorabilia to accompany each. You might not scrapbook all of college but this will ensure you get the most important things done.

You could also do a version of a School of Life album. For each school year you do 3 2-pg spreads. The first page has a picture of you from that school year and some details (think survey questions for each year - Dave professor, where you lived, what you ate, gave website, etc). So the 1st 2-pg spread is a pic of you, a bullet list of survey questions, and pictures related to school. The 2nd 2-pg spread gas pics and memorabilia related to life in general that year. Then you have a pocket page for all the extra memorabilia to keep that you don't include on the pages. For 4 years this is 24 pgs which will give a nice overview.

You could also do an ABC album or acronym album. For my sister's 30th birthday I created an album where every spread was a word from a letter in her name, which is Christen. So 1st page was C is for Childhood and had a few related photos, h was for hair with pics of hairstyles, R was for something else ...

I would also say that choosing a design theme really helps. I did an ABC album of my sisters wedding. She got married at Christmas so all pages were dark green and red with silver accents.

Hope this helps a bit
